Description:

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Training Program prepares students with the knowledge and hands-on skills necessary to provide quality nursing care under the supervision of licensed nurses in long-term care facilities, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, assisted living facilities, and home care settings. The program includes classroom instruction, skills laboratory training, and supervised clinical practicum experiences.

Students learn fundamental nursing skills including infection control, vital signs, personal care, mobility assistance, nutrition and hydration, restorative care, communication techniques, documentation, safety procedures, and the promotion of resident rights and dignity. Emphasis is placed on compassionate, patient-centered care, professionalism, teamwork, and ethical practice.

Upon successful completion of the program, students are eligible to take the state-approved Nurse Aide Competency Examination and pursue employment as a Certified Nursing Assistant.

The Home Health Aide (HHA) Training Program prepares students to provide safe, compassionate, and effective care to individuals in their homes and community settings. The course combines classroom instruction, and skills laboratory practice to develop the knowledge and skills necessary for entry-level employment as a Home Health Aide. Students learn personal care skills, infection control, communication techniques, nutrition, safety and emergency procedures, vital signs, client rights, and how to assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs) while promoting independence and dignity. The program also emphasizes professionalism, cultural sensitivity, and effective communication with clients, families, and healthcare team members. Upon successful completion, graduates are prepared for employment with home care agencies, hospice organizations, assisted living facilities, and other community-based healthcare settings.
